Lean Meat Index Growth Explanation
Lean Meat Growth Index:
At an age between 100 and 150 days, the lambs weighed and scanned. The weight is determined, and simultaneously with an ultrasound scanner, a photo of the back muscle made. MVG The index consists of the following elements:
- Toetsdag Age: The age of the animal in days on the day of scanning and roads
- Vet40: mm back fat in the animal would be counted as 40 kilos
- Fat toetsdag: actual fat in mm on the day of weighing and scanning
- Spier40: muscle thickness in millimeters calculated back as if the animal is 40 kilos
- Muscle toetsdag means actual muscle thickness in millimeters on the day of weighing and scanning
- Groei40: average growth per day in grams to 40 kilos in weight
- Toetsdag growth: average growth per day in grams
- Leeftijd40: number of days that the animal (back included) needed to achieve weight 40 kilos
